Paula Rafferty

Paula Rafferty is an international art quilt exhibitor,
certified quilt judge, exhibition curator, professional
longarm quilter, pattern designer and teacher.

 

Born and living in Ireland, Paula trained as a fashion
designer and worked in the industry for six years
before returning to college to train as an art teacher. She has been teaching art full time in Limerick Prison
since 1998.

2002 was the year Paula started quilting, using each new technique and style of patchwork learned to explore, develop and hone skills. Paula sees sewing as therapy and loves that there is a technique for every mood, that patchwork and quilting can be enjoyed within a group or as a solitary pursuit. The results of which can be a comforting quilt to wrap around a loved one or a piece of art to be enjoyed by many.
