Give Me Shelter
Size: 44'' x 50''
“Give Me Shelter” reflects the resilience, love, and
humanity that endures even in the face of unimaginable hardship. It portrays a Ukrainian mother carrying her family dog on her back, its muzzle symbolizing both restraint and protection, while her son stands beside her. Together, they navigate a tunnel – a metaphor for their escape and the uncertain path to safety.
This piece is based on a photo by Oleksandr
Khomenko, who gave me permission to use his
photograph.
