Since beginning quilting in 2013, Marie Jeanne Welsch has been on a journey of discovery, finding a passion for constructing original art quilts along the way.
She also began exploring the use of different materials and themes that allow her to express her love of story in her art.
She has been juried into and garnered awards, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally in both quilt venues and multimedia art exhibitions.
Marie continues to share stories through her art quilts, expressing hope and empowerment for future generations.

marathons, ultra-marathons, and endurance races, this piece celebrates their ability to engage, empower, and challenge the status quo.
Not long ago, women were seen as physically inferior to men. Yet since the 1960s, they have pushed boundaries in distance running, proving their strength, discipline, and resilience.
I was once a runner, but when I started college, the track team was for men only. A women's team wasn’t formed until a decade later. How far we've come!
